Extracting Oil from plastic trash

August 2, 2019, Eddielita Sagun from Maddela, Quirino Province, Philippines posted on her facebook account a video of their first attempt to extract oil from plastic wrappers and pet bottles.

In the said 15 minutes video, they demonstrated how to extract oil using their improvised apparatu from plastic wrappers, plastic bags and pet bottles. Fumes extracted seems to be extremely flammable, and the thick liquid extracted seems to be like crude oil, and is also flammable.

While the Philippines government is at its utmost momentum in finding solution to the growing non-degradable wastes, this discovery is such a great help to remedy the said environmental problem.

Eddielita Sagun said on one of her reply to comments on her post said there still a lot to improve to polish the extracted oil, and to help in the growing problem of waste management.
"Kung papatok fren makakatulong sa problema sa basura.... Marami p dapat ayusin." (If it will work great friend it will be a help in waste management. There are still lot to improve."
She also replied to one of the comments on her post, "Bale yan po kc u ng first try na d namin alam mag succeed o Hindi kaya very raw lahat pro after po n positive ung first try aayusin po namin MgA flaws..." (That was our first try and we didn't expected to succeed or not that is why it is all very raw but after the first try resulted positively, we will improve it and fix the flaws)

During the time of this writing, we are trying to gather more information from them. We will update this post periodically about this amazing discovery.
